Hello!
My name is Shania Chen and I'm a 25 year old Chinese-Canadian university grad, and now, artist and content creator! I am based in Toronto, Canada.
In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, I decided to dig up my long-harboured hobby for doodling and take it more seriously. I began posting short-form content and doodles on TikTok, and very soon after opened up an Etsy shop! I was lucky enough that my TikToks were going viral, and my Etsy took off quite quickly. I realized then that I had a deep passion for creating and that I had the ability to potentially turn that passion into something tangible and useful.
Milestones
Since 2020, I've been lucky enough to hit a few milestones via my social platforms, including:
- 46,000+ followers on instagram
- 7000+ on TikTok
- and over 13,600+ on Youtube
with a few of my videos reaching insane goals (1.4M, and 800k+ views)! I also had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with several brands, some of which include:
- CASETiFY
- Munbyn
- Noissue
- Divoom
- ACEFAST
- MOFT
and other big creators!!
The sense of community being built is so wonderful and I'm forever grateful to those supporting me!
I have also since opened my own official shop site, created hundreds of new designs and illustrations, and expanded my product line - from just a few stickers to an entire line of items, from stationery to lifestyle, featuring over a hundred different designs. I have amassed over 6000+ sales across online platforms! Everything I create is original artwork by me, with the exception of a few fan art designs for various animations, shows, and kpop groups!
As of 2025, I have also attended several in-person markets and events and have been lucky enough to vend with some amazing organizers and fellow artists. I've been able to travel outside of Toronto to places like Montreal, Edmonton, Chicago and Raleigh for events. Not to mention, my product range is now available to shop year-round in several retail spaces including those in Vaughan Mills, Oshawa Centre, The Beaches, Montreal, Vancouver and New York!
Although this endeavour began as a regular hobby, I truly found a love for creating and can't see myself without madebyshania anymore. It is now officially my second year of taking on my business full-time and I can't believe the support I've received. I have big plans for my brand and for myself, and I can't wait to see what the future brings!!
